Requirements
Essential
- Matric (Grade 12)
- N+ certification (CCNA a strong plus)
- Understanding of TCP/IP and routing basics
- Comfortable with cabling and hardware
- Driver's licence for field work
Nice to Have
- CCNA / CCNP
- Fibre-splicing certification
- MikroTik / Ubiquiti experience
- Wireless (Wi-Fi 6) knowledge
A Typical Day
Configure routers, switches and access points
Install and test fibre and network cabling
Monitor network health and resolve outages
Document network topology
Support end-users with connectivity issues
Work Environment: Mix of NOC/office monitoring and field visits to client sites and data centres. Physical at times (cabling, mounting equipment).
Shift Patterns: Business hours plus on-call/shift rotations for network operations centres running 24/7.
