We don't ask you to
trust the training.
We test it first.
The Synthetic Voice Lab runs thousands of AI voice conversations against every training version we build. Every failure improves the next. The loop runs until it's proven. Your agents only ever see what passed.
The problem
We heard the same story from operator after operator.
Demos that didn't match reality
AI training tools sounded great in the demo. Not in production.
No clear proof
No way to know what happened or how your AI performed.
Expensive, unreliable, and hard to fix
Errors showed up in campaigns — too late.
“We heard the frustration. So we built something the world had never seen — AI that tests our AI training, in a closed loop, until it's proven. Only then does it reach your people.”
— ShiftMate engineering team
What is the Synthetic Voice Lab?
The world's first closed-loop AI training simulator.
Other platforms use AI to train your people. We use AI to improve our own training — before your people ever see it. Every version enters the lab. Every failure tells us exactly what to fix. The loop runs until the training is proven. Then we do it again for every voice model, reasoning engine, and technology update we ship.
PLAN
Identify what the training must do
Define the objective. What does a passing agent look like across all six performance dimensions? Set the bar before building.
EXECUTE → CHECK → ITERATE
Run the loop until it passes
Golden, Sloppy, and Rogue each get a fresh context — they have never seen the training they are testing. They are the check that can actually fail the output. The loop runs until every persona returns a verdict the training deserves.
STOP
Ship only what cleared the bar
When all three checker nodes pass, the training ships. Not when it looks good. Not when we think it's ready. When the loop says so.
The critical rule
The agent that wrote the output is the worst possible judge of it.
Golden, Sloppy, and Rogue each get a completely fresh context. They have never seen the training version they are testing. A verifier that shares context with the thing it is checking is not a verifier — it is the same agent pretending to be two. Our checkers are genuinely independent. That is what makes the result meaningful.

★ The Golden Trainee
Behaves like a great agent should.
If the training doesn't score this one highly, the training is broken.
The baseline. Every version must pass the Golden first.

⚠ The Sloppy Trainee
Careless, cuts corners, mumbles.
The training has to catch it.
Tests whether the scoring catches underperformance — not just excellence.

⚡ The Rogue Trainee
Difficult, seeks off-script, tries to game it.
The training has to hold up.
The adversarial test. If we can trick it, so can a bored agent.
If our training can tell these three apart, reliably, thousands of times over — it can handle your floor.
The closed loop
AI tests AI. Until it's perfect. Then it keeps going.
Think about what this means. We are using the most advanced intelligence in the world to test, refine, and continuously improve the very products we use to train human call centre agents. Every turn of the loop reveals a new opportunity to improve. Every improvement makes the next version tighter. This is not a one-time quality check — it is a perpetual refinement engine.
01
Build
A new training version is created — scenarios, personas, dialogue logic, scoring rubric, voice layer.
02
Test
The SVL runs thousands of AI voice conversations against it. Golden, Sloppy, and Rogue push it from every angle.
03
Diagnose
Every failure is scored across six dimensions. Not a vague pass/fail — precise, actionable gaps.
04
Improve
The training is updated. The new version re-enters the lab. The loop runs until the training proves itself.
Beyond training versions
The lab also validates every new voice model, reasoning engine, and technology layer before it ships. If a new capability doesn't pass the lab, it doesn't reach your floor — no matter how impressive it looks elsewhere.

The gate
Nothing ships until it passes.
Every version of our training has to clear the Synthetic Voice Lab before it goes anywhere near a real agent. If it fails, it doesn't go live. Full stop.

What the lab checks
We make the invisible visible.
Six dimensions scored on every run. Thousands of times per training version.
Pronunciation
Clear and accurate.
A training tool that mispronounces candidates is worthless.
Naturalness
Sounds human.
Agents switch off the moment it sounds fake.
Speed
Good at any pace.
Real conversations don't have three-second gaps.
Barge-in
Handles interruptions.
Real callers interrupt.
Staying in character
Doesn't break role.
A scenario that drifts teaches the wrong thing.
Resistant to tricks
Hard to game or break.
If we can trick it, so can a bored agent.
