Reaching the workersno algorithm can find

Formal job portals only reach candidates who are already digitally active. ShiftMate's Introducer Network reaches everyone else — through churches, spaza shops, taxi ranks, and community leaders who hold the trust that no app can buy.

Strategic Distribution Moat

The distribution layer no competitor can replicate

South Africa has 33% official unemployment — 7.8 million people who need work. The majority of them are not on LinkedIn, not checking job portals, and not responding to SMS blasts. They are reached through community trust.

The formal-portal problem

Job portals and recruitment agencies reach candidates who are already digitally active and job-searching. They miss the 60%+ youth unemployment cohort — people in townships, informal settlements, and rural areas who have no reason to open a job site today.

ShiftMate's answer: community trust

The church elder who knows every unemployed youth in her congregation. The spaza owner everyone passes twice a day. The taxi driver who hears who needs work. ShiftMate turns these trusted community figures into a credentialed, performance-tracked distribution network.

Lowest CAC channel on the platform

Community introducers are performance-paid on confirmed hires only. ShiftMate pays nothing for a candidate who doesn't convert — making the Introducer Network the platform's lowest-cost candidate acquisition channel by design.

Geographic network effects

Each active introducer in a geography increases ShiftMate's coverage there. A church elder in Soweto, a taxi operator in Durban North, a youth group leader in Mitchell's Plain — the network deepens with every addition, and geographic coverage compounds over time.

Fraud and duplicate controls built in

Commissions are earned when an employer pays to unlock a candidate's contact details — the moment of proven mutual interest. One commission per trial booking prevents duplicate claims. Tier progression (Bronze → Platinum) is earned through verified placement volume, not self-reported activity.

Competitor moat: trust takes months to build

No BPO recruiter, job portal, or staffing agency has this community layer. It cannot be acquired through an ad spend or API integration. The relationships — and the credibility that comes from those introducers successfully placing workers — accumulate over months and years of performance.

Commission economics

Introducers earn a percentage of the trial placement fee the moment an employer pays to unlock a candidate's contact details. The tier system rewards consistent, high-quality referrals — aligning introducer incentives with employer outcomes.

Bronze
10%
≈ R43 per placement
Silver
15%
≈ R65 per placement
Gold
20%
≈ R87 per placement
Platinum
25%
≈ R109 per placement

Commission = tier % × ex-VAT net (R500 VAT-inclusive trial fee ÷ 1.15 ≈ R435). Paid when an employer reveals a candidate's contact details. One commission per trial booking. Tier advances on verified placement volume.

Who makes a great Introducer?

The distributor, the church elder, the spaza owner, the social worker — they introduce candidates the algorithm can't find.

Community leaders
Church group organisers
Taxi owners & drivers
Spaza shop owners
Stay-at-home parents
Retired professionals

Common questions

Do I need experience in recruitment?

No. You just need to know people who are looking for work. ShiftMate handles all the matching, contracts, and payments.

How do I get paid?

Commission is paid weekly via EFT to your bank account. You can track all your earnings in the Introducer dashboard.

Is there a limit to how many people I can introduce?

No limit. The more quality workers you introduce, the more you earn. Some introducers have networks of 100+ workers.

Can I be both a Shifter and an Introducer?

Yes! Many of our best introducers started as workers themselves. They understand the value and share it with others.

What if a worker I introduce doesn't get matched to a trial?

Your commission is earned when an employer pays to reveal a worker's contact details — the moment they choose to move forward with your candidate. If a worker isn't matched, no commission is earned for that introduction, but there's no cap on how many people you can introduce.
