About This Role
Debt collection is one of the most legally complex and skill-intensive roles in a contact centre. The agents who excel here are strategic, empathetic, and deeply knowledgeable about consumer rights. What You Will Do: • Contact debtors via outbound and inbound calls to negotiate payment arrangements • Verify debtor identity using RPC protocols before disclosing account information • Assess debtor financial circumstances and structure sustainable payment arrangements • Track and follow up on all Promise-to-Pay (PTP) commitments • Identify and correctly handle prescribed debt, Section 129 notices, and debt review referrals • Maintain full compliance with the Debt Collectors Act, NCA, POPIA, and CDC Code of Conduct What You Bring: • Matric / Grade 12 (essential) • Minimum 1 year outbound collections experience in a registered debt collection environment • Working knowledge of the National Credit Act and prescription rules • Demonstrated ability to negotiate payment arrangements and maintain PTPs • Strong numeracy — ability to calculate balances, instalments, and fees quickly Advantageous: CDC registration; experience on TCS or Strata-G; Certificate in Debt Collection NQF Level 4 What We Offer: • R9,500 – R13,000 per month basic + commission up to R6,000 per month • Monthly incentive competitions with cash prizes • CDC registration support provided • Structured career path to Senior Collector and Portfolio Manager • ShiftMate Verified Assessment required — BPO Layer 1 Screener + Layer 2 Debt Collection Knowledge Verification
