
Administrative Support Learnership - Persons with Disabilities (10 Positions)
About This Role
ShiftMate, in partnership with an accredited training provider, is recruiting 10 candidates for a fully funded 12-month administrative learnership based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
This programme is open exclusively to Persons with Disabilities (PWD). You will gain structured workplace experience in an administrative environment, complete accredited training modules, and earn a monthly stipend — giving you a credible foundation for permanent employment.
This is not a casual position. You will be placed in a real administrative work environment, supported by a dedicated supervisor, and assessed throughout the 12 months.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
• Providing day-to-day administrative support in a professional office environment
• Managing documents, filing systems, and correspondence
• Capturing and maintaining data accurately using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Supporting scheduling, meeting coordination, and general office operations
• Handling incoming queries professionally and directing them appropriately
• Completing structured learning modules as part of the accredited programme
WHO THIS IS FOR:
This learnership is specifically for Persons with Disabilities. We welcome applications from candidates with:
• Physical impairments (including amputation or conditions affecting mobility or bodily function)
• Sensory impairments (partial visual or hearing impairment — complete loss of vision or hearing is not required to qualify)
• Neurological impairments (including epilepsy and autism spectrum disorder)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Grade 10 or higher
• Based in or able to commute to Durban, KwaZulu-Natal
• Basic literacy and numeracy
• Motivated, reliable, and eager to learn
EMPLOYMENT EQUITY:
This learnership forms part of ShiftMate's Employment Equity plan and is specifically targeted at the following designated groups in line with the training provider's funded intake requirements: African females (7 positions) and Indian females (3 positions). Requirements
Grade 10 or higher. Must be a Person with Disability (physical, sensory, or neurological impairment). Based in or able to commute to Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. Motivated and reliable. This intake targets African females (7 positions) and Indian females (3 positions) in line with the training provider's Employment Equity funded intake requirements.
